Pricing to make you smile

Changing the game

Historically, pricing for clear aligners in South Africa meant most people couldn’t afford it. Thankfully to our provider network, advancements in technology and business efficiencies, we’ve been able to lower the cost of treatment.

Active Aligners typically start from R22 000 up to R 45 000 for more complex cases, straightening most smiles in an average of 6 months.

These prices exclude any necessary dental work professional fees that may be required by your provider to get your smile Active Aligners journey ready.

How do Active Aligners work?

Clear aligners work on basic orthodontic principles. They apply precise and specific forces to move individual teeth in their desired directions.

Gradually, a smile is straightened stage by stage, aligner by aligner, until the desired outcome is reached.

Application of Controlled Force

  • INCREMENTAL ADJUSTMENTS: Each set of aligners is engineered to apply specific pressure on certain teeth. When you wear a new set of aligners, the aligners exert gentle, consistent force on the teeth.
  • PRESSURE POINTS: The aligners are designed with precise pressure points to push teeth in specific directions. For example, they might push a tooth to rotate, move forward, backward, or adjust vertically.

Biological Response

BONE REMODELING: The applied forces stimulate the periodontal ligament and alveolar bone surrounding the teeth. This triggers a biological response known as bone remodeling, a natural process where bone tissue is broken down (resorption) and rebuilt (deposition).

  • OSTEOCLASTS: Cells called osteoclasts resorb the bone on the pressure side of the tooth.
  • OSTEOBLASTS: Cells called osteoblasts create new bone on the tension side, allowing the tooth to move.

Sequential / Gradual Movement

Each set of aligners is typically worn for 2 weeks. During this period, the aligners gradually move the teeth to match the shape and fit of the aligner.

Once the teeth have moved to fit the current aligner, the patient switches to the next set of aligners, which continues to move teeth further toward their final positions.

Once the patient has completed the series of aligners, the teeth should be in their desired final positions.

With an average treatment of 6 months to a new confident smile, it’s no wonder why more and more people are turning to Active Aligners as their clear choice for clear braces.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why seek treatment through a dental professional?

Orthodontic treatments (clear aligners) require professional supervision. Additional dental procedures (below) may be required, which only your dentist is able to provide.

Dental Check-ups (Oral Health)

IPR (Interproximal Reduction):

A regular orthodontic procedure where a small amount of tooth surface between teeth is polished to create space. This can fix crowding or alter the shape of teeth. It is mainly used to stop patients from having an edge to edge bite.

Buttons (Composite Attachments):

Small amounts of composite are bonded to teeth to give the clear aligners force or traction. This allows the aligner to rotate and move teeth more actively.
